"The future of Europe is made with industry"

With the EU Commission recently publishing its ambitious 2040 Climate target, aiming for a 90% reduction in GHG emissions, it is clear that supporting our industries is essential to achieving this goal and ensuring overall climate neutrality.  In today’s globalized economy, it is crucial for EU industries to remain competitive, serving as a catalyst for economic prosperity across the continent. That is why we strongly advocate for a European Industrial Deal on par with the European Green Deal.

The Antwerp Declaration consists of 10 urgent measures that target the need for clarity, predictability, and confidence in Europe and its industrial policy. The declaration was formed on a European industry summit in Antwerp, Belgium, on 20 February 2024. The ‘Antwerp Declaration’ is supported be a wide range of sectors and already over 600 companies have signed the declaration.

At Westenergy, we strongly believe that the Green Deal 2.0 should be industry-driven. In alignment with the Antwerp Declaration, we call for a comprehensive action plan that supports our climate and sustainability targets in a way that prioritizes competitiveness and fosters a stronger business environment in Europe. We encourage all stakeholders to join us in this movement because ”The future of Europe is made with industry.” Westenergy has officially signed the Antwerp Declaration for a European Industrial Deal.
